255 looks stupid on the stock 8" wheel, so no sense trying to fit a 265 on there. 245 fits PERFECTLY on the 8" wheel, I don't know why people think that extra 10mm of tread and extra sidewall flex will be so much better.

It really depends what you are looking to do. With a 245 you can run either a 40 or 45 sidewall. Both have there ups and downs. I am still not set with with what I am going to get however I think I would prefer the shorter sidewall. It should help turn in response at the cost of a couple mph.

Bringing this tread back from the dead. So can anyone provide insight into a 17x9.5 wheel that will fit a 265/40/17 tire and not rub or require fender rolling? It seems like 17x9 rota dpt with 255/40/17 is about as wide as you can go without having to roll fenders.

255s weight 28lbs and dots are at 19 so 47lbs or I could run 245/40 on stock bbs and I'm looking at 44lbs but the width is way different. 255s have 10.4 inched and 245s have 9.8 more than half an inch at four corners
