Bilstein HD Alternative?

So spring is nearing and I am looking to upgrade my springs and shocks. I have been waiting for Bilstein HD to come in stock a GTWorx since December but so far it's not looking too good. Seems like Tirerack just had a couple sets in stock but by the time I saw the post they were all gone.

What are alternative's for a street/autox setup that will work as well as the HD's? I was planning on running them with Swift Spec R's. I'm not really interested in going with a coilover setup.

If you can get a fresh set (low mileage) of KYBs, its not ideal but will hold you over. MAP was working on getting a set together. But that is stalled at the moment.

You could always pick up a set in the classified section of this forum. And if you want you could send those into bilstein and get them re-valved specifically for the swift springs.

Buying MR's and getting them revalved will come out to more than new HD's cost. I guess it's an option but not really a great one.

Ya I was very disappointed by MAP not continuing with their shocks. Oh well guess I will have to wait.

you can go with the ohlin fixed shock. Pricey at $1900 but they will work with stock or aftermarket springs. I would be curious to find out how they handle.

So if I understand correctly:
good option is blistein HD that are always BO
cheap chinese coil overs are crap
MR bilstein need revalving and would cost more

so between the HD that are not available and a coilover that cost 2000$ theres not many choices in between for street use occasinal track?????

Even after more than 7 years with the evo on the market??

Too bad theres not a Koni option, running thoses for 9 years on the track on my DSM and loved them.
thoses HD are quite a bit too soft on a local VR6 I raced with
if it's the only option I say it's too bad because theres quite a bit of improvement to be made "between" a good shock spring option and a "good" coilover setup
