New pads and rotors not breaking well at all!!

So I just put new pads and slotted rotors on my IX a few days ago. Usually they break in quick when I have done them on other cars in the past but this time seems to be different. For some reason I am still not getting the breaking power that I used to. Everything seems to be done right and the pedal is stiff. Im not sure if it takes longer to scuff up these pads with the slotted rotors or what. Any ideas?????

What pads and rotors were you using before? I believe if you do some searching, it is generally perceived that the Hawk HPS pads do not have the same initial bite as the factory brembo pads. They are better as you dig into the brakes but don't provide that same immediate stopping force as the OEM brembo pads.

Edit:
I have the same pads and will be replacing them ASAP.

i was using the stock brembo pads and rotors before these. are they going to get better after some wear or is it always going to be like this until they warm up every time?

This is your problem. If you search around here, these are just about the worst pads you can get. No bite. See the big sticky here, I even put pics up of the HPS that I tried. Get a better set of pads. I recommend Axxis ULTs for the price.

I like racing brake et500's myself. I'm putting a new set on today with some centric premium blanks.

HPS are known to not have any bite for the Evo. Breaking in more will not do anything. Its the design of the pad compound. I dislike their street pads, but I like their race pads.

^ I have to agree...their street pads I have tried on some of my cars and I never liked them. Their track pads on the other hand are much better...

I have the ET-800 pads on my car full time. IMO a great multi-purpose pad compound. Pete
