Pads advance just like tire compounds do. The ST43 is superior to both the XP10 and XP12. Unless you are on a tight budget there is no reason not to run the ST43. The Carbotech pads are excellent but Raybestos is new technology and simply better.

Would you mind elaborating a little more? For my application, what are the ST43s going to give me over the XP10s? I'm not too worried about temperatures as I'll be running a duct kit - actually, I'd prefer a little more bite at slightly lower temps given the type of events I'll be doing. How are the ST43s going to compare in terms of control / modulation, torque, and longevity?

I have not tried the 43's so I couldn't comment.

I have 2 track days on ST43's and RA-1's and I have nothing but praise for the braking feel!!!

Not sure how well the ST43's would do with a non-R compound, I would imagine the torque of the ST43's might cause ABS intervention, just my 2 cents

Ended up ordering the Carbotech XP10s after some more recommendations from a few friends. They shipped out this afternoon - I'll report back after the first track day of the season Sunday.

That's the combination I run - XP10 and the 2500. It works great and good bias.

Great to hear! The salesman (Mike Jr.) at Carbotech said that the rear end might get a little twitchy with the Ferodos - have you experienced anything like that?

I'm running Hawk DTC-30's right now front and rear, and personally I love them. I'm using them with street tires - Bridgestone RE01's. I have the MR brake guides and never had an issue with them over heating during any of my sessions that day at Pacific raceway. The only thing is they start to give some vibration after they heat up but they still bite hard.

For the price, they are great. I've used them for one track day and they bite hard warm or cold, and for street, there is tons of initial bite so it's pretty safe to be able to use daily.
