I'm only running the DBA 5000 Rotors in the front, but will be considering a set of DBA 4000 and some ET700 pads once these Project Mu pads are toast. Those pads are on the OEM rotors at the moment.
So far the rotors are pretty awesome and are still above my skill level, so they have more than enough brake for my needs. I did switch over to ATE Super Blue from the AMSOIL DOT 4 since I've been changing my fluid after every other event. They've seen some decent braking and have been running around 10% cooler when I hit them with the IR temp gauge after a good session. I've been seeing temps around 1100 degrees or so on the rotor itself.
So, looking at some of the other options out there, it seems like the DBA two piece rotors are the same as all the other options out there for the Evo. The design on the, say, Girodisc two piece is quite similar to that of the DBA. Did you have another brand you were considering?

went with dba5000 in front, dba4000 in back, thanks to Golgo's advice -
My car's for autocross so the 5000 is probably overkill (as is anything beyond a centric blank, I'm sure) but I found a pretty great deal and I'm sure I'll enjoy the weight savings. Hopefully I'll be able to notice the difference and post a review here or in a new thread.
btw - did you used to own a X?

Nope, went from a '00 ITR to an '06 Evo IX.

I'm gonna let these ferodos (ds2500s) die (i hated them btw), and then probably go to rc5+? (for autocross). decent street/autocross pads are, at least to my standards, hard to come by.. in terms of noise, dust, wear on rotor, bite, etc. i want my braking to be as violent as my acceleration
