wheel spacers BAD or OK!!

Is it bad to run them on all for. The rim's I just got hit the brakes up front but they have a 40mm off set and the stock one are 38mm off set. It look like I would need a 10mm to 15mm spacer.

As long as you get a good quality spacer, it should be fine. I've run a 5mm spacer up front for a couple of years w/out issues and I know others have raced on larger spacers than that.

I used to be anti-spacers... now I run a 20mm up front. You'll be fine.

What brand and model are the wheels? Sounds like you need closer to a 20-25mm. Many people don't like them, for whatever reason. I ran 20mm spacers for a long time. Get something that is hubcentric, like the Ichiba brand that Touge Factory sells. Bolt-on spacers are fine. Slip-on with extended lugnuts are even better.

you can run spacers on just the front or the rear or all around if you want. just make sure they are quality parts and make sure you get longer studs if you go big!!

Wow, when I had a WRX everyone told me never ever get spacers. This is quite interesting, maybe its something different compared to EVOs?

It's not the car(s); it's one's individual comfort level. Personally, I've never used spacers and most likely never will. Just buy wheels that fit.

I've done plenty of track days with spacers and rcomps, never had a problem. The wheels actually started to crack (older forgeline rs) before they were retired.

I have Advan RGII 18x9xO45 with 10mm spacers on the front from the previous owner. I absolutely need extended lugs because i have 1/2in of lug holding my fronts on...

I cant for the life of me find an extended lug kit. Can somebody post a link?

Maperformance has them. They sell 20 for like $130 bucks.

I've used them on my VW before and so have a lot of other VW owners. It will eventually wear out your wheel bearings but just make sure you have hubcentric spacers and it will save you a lot of trouble.
