Rota Quality issues??
Hi,
I'm new to the forum and i'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times.
I reside is South Africa and I'm interested in getting a set of Rota G-Force rims for my Evo 8. However, I've been told by some of the distributers here that their suppliers in the US informed them that Rotas are NOT good rims as they have had issues with the quality and strength of the rims, and will not sell them.
They indicated that some of the rims gets hairline cracks when used on trackdays.
Can you please tell me if these issues are correct, still prevelant or have they been resolved? I would really love to get a set as i think they look awesome!!
Please let me know.

A few stories from many years ago will always keep following ROTA's and you will be reminded of them every time you see someone who paid 4 times the price for his Volks.
On the other hand, there's a LOT of people on this forum that have been using ROTAs with great success - daily driving or tracking them.
They're good wheels from what I can gather.

I have been doing some research on Rota rims and it does seem like old propaganda floating around them.
I'm very keen on getting me a set...
will post pics once i get them.
cheers

While you are at it search on "cracked Advan" to see how the cast original of the gforce holds up. Rotas are cast and will likely hold up as well as any cast wheel of similar design.
