Camber Tires - with molded in camber

Did anyone see this test drive of the Camber Tires on Jay Leno's Garage? Sounds interesting. Nice choice of EVO X test car as well!

www.jaylenosgarage.com

www.cambertire.com

Tires come with 2* of camber molded in.

Ummmmm!

Seems a crap idea to me. The whole idea of running negative camber is so when the car leans over on cornering loads then the tyre tips over too and you get maximum contact patch.

So what it is is a street tyre for ricers to run maximum negative camber and have even tyre wear with mainly straight line driving with minimal cornering load. I spose there's a market for it.

Do these have positive or negative camber built in? The old BFG R1s had built in negative camber through assymetrical sidewall stiffness -- great for camber challenged stock class cars.

I think as he explained when the suspension loads it doesn't "tip over" it maintains a contact patch just like a regular tire would with the same suspension settings. This will be sweet esp to gain traction on high speed straights on track or on the road.
