POLL - Winter use / snow tires or park the evo??
I am debating what to do with the Evo - the Advans are prob useless in any snow at all - debating on getting snow tires or just parking the Evo and buying a DSM beater for the winter
What do you guy's think ???

Couldn't vote for my choice... Snow tires on aftermarket rims, leaving the A046 tires on the stock rims.
I'll have three complete sets of wheels and tires for the car -- the stock wheel/tire combo, plus full sets of both snow tires and competition tires on aftermarket wheels. I try not to think about how much I've spent...

I live in CT we had a lot of snow last year - I drove a STI with suretrack F & R diffs and LM 22 Blizzacks - it went better than a jeep
Just can;t make up my mind about the Evo

Im going to put on some all seasond BFG G-Force KDWS', the 4wd does the rest. Im going to put 19" SSR wheels on it in the spring with 235-35-19's and if I wanna race, I'll get some Racing Harts or something fairly cheap that'll fit with Kumho Victoracers.

Well I personally think why buy the car when your not going to drive it? Might as well have some fun in the winter time. Personally I'm buying Ultra high performance all season tires. They had great ratings and only were a few points below the blizzaks on the snow rating. These tires also had good dry and wet ratings and still holding a stiff sidewall which you will loose with a strictly winter tire. All season tires seemed more practical only costing about $400, and then i can keep them on a little longer until the weather gets above 60 again, before i throw my Advans back on. As far as paying $700 for winter tires its just not practical especially since i'm saving $3,000 for spring time mods. But, if i had the money I would probably go with the Blizzaks I dont know. Definatly drive your Rocket in the snow...

I'm prolly gonna get of cheap rims and get snows. I think I have actually a set of 16" 1g DSM rims that I might use, I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern is the same. 16" snow tires are cheaper than 17"s, that's for sure

Now if your 16"s do fit, then we'll all go after you for not letting us know sooner .

Its not my daily driver, so I'm not going to go for the winter wheel/tire combination for this year. I'm sure there will be a few days where it warms up to take it out. The Advans most definitely suck in cold weather as my first experience with sub 40 degree weather will hopefully be my last.
