i just came home from my first track day with my evo and the inside on my passanger front tire seems to have gotem melted. is this normal? the other 3 tires are fine
suspension is stock

tires are dunlop z1's 235/45/17 at 34psi coild tire pressor

my other 3 tires are 100% fine its just this one tire pealed or melted the inside thread to the wear bars when the middle and other side of the tire is still like new. This cant be normal.

If this is a right turn track and this was the front left tire, this could be perfectly normal, especially if you're still learning and you just overdrove the tire. But it really just looks used...

Looks like you overheated the tire there. Step off in colors looks like compound changes.

Could have been spinning that tire on corner exit. On top of the turns in the track chaning loads on that tire.

Stock suspension has a lot of laterial sway too. Lots of weight is moved side to side.

Yeah, it looks like the tire got over-worked. Also, it looks like it can use a lot more camber! It's a bit disturbing to have that much uneven wear across the tire.

This is my tire wear on my left side tires from my S2000, running Buttonwillow CW13 with high air temp of the day hitting 97F. So it was a hot day.

Bridgestone Potenza RE-11s in 245/40/17. Take into account my alignment was more optimal as you can see my wear is pretty much flat across the tires. And the S2k is about 400lbs lighter than the Evo 8/9. You can see that the outboard shoulders did get worked pretty hard going in the clock-wise direction, but no wear issues at all, no feathering, etc.

I did use the Star Specs in 245/40/17 back when I had my Evo 8 and I was not a fan. I only tracked them in cold weather, so no comparison to your conditions, but I did not like their feel at all.

Very normal. Some of it is yours and some is likely OPR (other people's rubber). Very common.

those tires dont like heat at all. Im having to use a tire sprayer so my tires dont chunk :|

This is not true. That compound is made for heat. The Z1* has a much better heat range and use range and the NT05 and RE11 (Z1* work over a broader range).

Stock alignment, stock suspension, power of car, track, driver experience is what did that to the tires.
