Question Need new break pads...

Im needing some new break pads for the Evo and she is my DD. Is there any out there that you guys would recommend for DD use but i also go to the track once a month so they will be beat on a little. I do get into high speed (110MPH +).

You're going to have to consider your budget, and what compromises you can make for a pad thats daily driven, and still has track capabilities. Thats two different worlds you dabbing into!

Having just done my first track day last friday, I can tell you that my DD pads (RB ET500's) would never have been able to take the abuse my track pads (CarboTech XP10 & XP08) did.

If your willing to live with loud, dusty and somewhat harsh pads on the street then I suggest you buy an aggressive pad. If your not willing to live with that stuff, then you need to have 2 sets, really the best way to do it.

You don't want to end up like this guy.

These are terrible pads, my suggestion along with a whole lot of others on this board is to stay away from those.

fixed it for ya Pete!

I sure did...when it first started. There has been a few occassions locally that I've heard of pads on fire, and they were on track specific pads.

There was guy at this past autox who hadn't even bed his pads before the event... They were smokin like a champ when he came off course. Don't know who that could have been...

Sorry about getting OT.

The CL RC5+ is probably your best option on the market right now for doing exactly what you intend. They have great cold bite, high temperature threshold, not much noise, and very reasonable dust.

There are guys driving them on the street and taking them to Road America...very wide range of usage. There's another loooong thread dedicated to them here on the forums.

They're a little pricey, but they solve problems other pads cannot.
