I've always used good gone, let it soak and use a rag to wipe it off after you let it set for a couple of minutes.

Another great way to go is this... I have one, I removed all the pinstripes off my M3, and also did it on an old chevy truck/tow vehicle. It is amazing if you have never seen it used.. I would do this for the quick removal of residue on the inside of a wheel from wheel weights..

Goo Gone is the best I've used. It still requires lots of elbow grease and is a PITA.

If the inside of your wheel is not painted you can use something more abrasive such as gas.

I have seen Grainger sells a "Wheel Weight Adhesive Removal Tool", It's a red plastic piece. Haven't seen it in use before, though.

I soak mine in 3M Bug and Tar Remover - black and green bottle. Just take your time and use elbow grease. It will come off.

we have them at work...its basically a plastic wedge with a handle..

it does nothing to remove the adhesive..since its plastic and just bends and ive had them just not even be able to get under the weights because the normal driving heating of the bakes/wheels bonds the weights so much to the wheel...

i hate sticky weights but they make the wheels look so much better than when weights are clamed on the edge..
