EDIT: I have some 255/40/17 sitting in my garage now going on a 8.5" wheel. I'll update after I get to auto-x them in the coming months.

Not a bad tire for the $, but not as good as the B-Stone RE-11 or Dunlop Z1's.

I haven't run the RE-11, only the RE-01, but it is far superior to the RE-01 at the track for me. Second best street tire I have run at any SoCal track

Could you go into more detail? I've used the Star Specs previously and loved them, but I've heard great things too about the RS-3's...Please do share any info/testing you guys have!

i have a set of rs3's that i auto-x'd quite a lot last year. i love them. amazing grip, insane braking, all around performer. the turn-in response is a little slow, but that can be said of any 140tw or higher tire.

I've driven both the star specs and the hankooks on my STX solo car, though I preferred the star specs, most will not know the difference between the two on the street or just DD. So if you don't need the maximum performance, save a few bucks and grab the Hankooks. Stay away from the Bridgestones.

any reason why we should stay away from the starspecs? can u provide any data as why u prefer the rs3 over the starspec or on the track or u just going off purely opinion....

i have autocrossed for a few years now.
back in the day teh axenis was the kind for street tires. then everybody switched to the reo1r Last year everybody whos anybody at the track all ran star specs. Now everybody expically the fastest people at the autocross are now all running RS3's. but their size is very limited.

The best high performance street tires right now are pretty much the rs3s and maybe still the star specs

I can confirm the RE01r's suck at just about everything. I cant comment on the RE11's though.
