?

Except maybe the 2008 SCCA national championship where they WON stu.

One of the big things about the RE01R is that the built date on the latest ones is like 4 years ago. Any tire is going to be a lot slower after that long.

I tracked a set last year. They have sh*t for grip compared my Z1's. Turn in response is god awful. They seriously felt like all seasons out there.

You're the first person I've heard this from. Can you go into more detail? They were RS-3s and not RS-2s?

Wait, you talking about the RS-3s or the RE01s?

^Still talking about RE01R's.

Ive heard great things regarding the RS3's, i actually have a set on the way. They will be exclusively used for road racing this year.

Again, build date. If it was last year, they were already old tires. I think they stopped making them in mid 2007...

EDIT: I don't even know why it comes up anymore. The RE01R is discontinued and unobtainable. Same for the Yokohama AD07.

That was 2010, still old. I tested some May 2007 tires in March of 2008. After 12 months, peak loads dropped from ~1.10 g to ~0.85 g. They didn't like sitting in my garage for 8 months...

245/40/17.

anyone runninig the 255/40-17 on the stock wheels?
Yes it fits and it sucks, unfortunately you can really feel the sidewall rolling over, I would use a 17x9 or 17x9.5 for a 255 tire. I am speaking from my experience with Falken 615 so who knows maybe rs3's have uber stiff unabtanium sidewalls and are not affected by the laws of physics.

Anyone know the life expectancy of these? Need to get new tires soon and I'm hoping these can last as long as my RT-615s did.

I think that this quite possibly the worst question you can ask(no offense) How is everyone supposed to know how YOU drive, what the road conditions are in your area, and if you track/auto-x the car? All of these play a huge role in tire wear. I should be putting a set of rs3's on my car in a couple months, once I get more funds/time to powdercoat my wheels.
