255/35/18 for drag

My car is set up for road course and autox but I am curious how they will perform for drag racing. The car has coilovers with 7k/9k springs and am open to any suggestions before I send it down the strip.

If you mean the size, they should work fine. Most popular 18" EVO size to use.

I always see people runing 17's on drag radials when they go to the track, Will 255/35/18 with drag radials perform the same as 17'? For example Advan rs wheels?

Grip would be similar if the 17" was also a 255 footprint. However, the 18's sidewall wouldn't flex as much/deflect due to the shorter stiffer sidewalls. Drag radials typically have softer walls to deflect under load creating a wider footprint on the ground. Helps launch better.

I am running Ventus V12 evo K110 and am curious what tire pressure you would recommend for drag. I am also worried that my rear springs might be a little too stiff and might sacrifice my 60ft.

Advan RS wheels are pretty heavy.

For optimum times, I'd suggest going as light as possible in the rotating mass department.

Stop thread jacking. This thread is about optimizing the parts at hand not what would be the best choice for a drag car. What PSI would benefit MYYYYYYY set-up?

I'm pretty sure that he wasn't trying to thread jack, but what he saying is correct about the weight and your original post says nothing about using only the parts on hand; in fact it doesn't list any of your parts but does say this:

open to any suggestions before I send it down the strip
That being said, not to thread jack, but those v12's are not the best for 1/4 mile track times. I have never used those tires on a drag strip but I would recommend 25psi as a starting point and going from there.

Let me be more clear. My car is set up for autox and road course. I don't care to much for drag but I am curious to see what it will do and want to adjust what I have for the rarity that I do drag race it.

15'' gram lights with mickey thompson's for the win...

last year i ran my 18'' oz superleggeras on yoko advans at 28psi... mods were only a xede and xflash at 25psi on 91 oct... 1.7 60ft 12.9 at 4400 ft elevation on a desert airstrip not a prepped track... aint nothin to brag about but i'm pleased

if you dont care about your drag why even bother to adjust... run what you brung... its a monster to begin with... sticky tires + AWD launch= awesome part-time drag car..

Just run whatever pressure you have the most even tire temps when you auto-x. that will be the best starting point at least to decide. The tires you have will not really increase in grip much when you reduce pressure since the sidewall will not flex much and you will end up with the center of the tread having less contact with the road than the outsides.
