While I'm looking for an aggressive stance I don't want it to look stupid.

I'm also looking at running a 255/40/17 tire. I haven't mounted anything yet because I want to get all my ducks in a row before hand.

My question is with this setup, am I just myself up for failure? Or should I just go for and hope for the best ?
Looks like youre in the ball park of what is needed. I run a similar wheel as well. 17x9.5 +30 w/ 275/40. I needed a big pull, bumper bolt & some other minor rear fender things done
The +25 is probably OK up front. You may need the front fender extender. Rolling the fronts is tough due to memory in the alum

Yeah thats what I'm trying to avoid. I REALLY don't want to roll the front but I will if I have to. I'm not running anything wider then a 255 for the time being, ( more or less because the KDW's that I'm looking at are on sale right now.)

I was kicking myself in the *** for buying +30 but looking back at it now I wanted to keep it civil. and I wasn't to hyped at having +22 on all corners. I'll get those 5mm spacers ordered up and get things moving on the tires.

Considering picking up some Gram Light 57 Maximum's with tires. The tires are 245/35x18 and I believe the wheels are 18x8.5 +45.

I'm on stock suspension currently. How will my inside clearances be, especially up front when turning?

Also if I ever switch to swift spec r/Bilstein's will I have issues?

EDIT: Or am I better off with 5 or 10mm spacers all around?

+45 is really going the wrong direction IMO. There is a 7mm (.27") difference between these Gram Lights & the stocker

Id be curious if these +45 would even clear the Brembos, so front spacers would be in order.
Im not a spacer proponent but I would shoot for a corrected offset in the neighborhood of +32 to +38

As far as clearance Im guessing a 245/35 might fit w/out contacting the strut but any larger tire or profile will get you close.
Again, I would rather see the offset be pushed in the other direction

Thank you for the quick response!

I'm not positive on the offset. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller on that. I was just basing it off some quick research I did on Google. I found that the 18x8.5's also came in +33 offset.

The seller had the wheels on an STI so I think that the +45 would be the offset seeing that's what offset everyone seems to have on the Subaru forums.

With that being said how will 18x8.5 +33 with 245/35 tires fit?

This would put you right in the sweet spot. You would be 5mm (.19") closer to the rear fender than the stock +38's

Should be OK for a no fender roll set-up

Theres not 1 answer w/out knowing more details. Are you rubbing at full lock or is it rubbing with wheels straight?
Maybe youre too low. Are you on C/overs ?
Some guys just let minor rubbing continue until the tire burns through it
Removing the liner is not a good idea, especially over the passengers well where there are some very sensitive wiring harnesses above the liner

Im looking at buying a set of rims for my evo 8. The specs are 18x8 +35mm offset wheels are 225 40 18 just wondering if these will fit without any clearance issues?
Thanks

Well, the +35 really keeps the wheel in the meat of the well which is good. Tire size is a bit of a stretch but like the 40 series

Unless its a known wheel here on EVOM, you may run into an interference issue w/the spokes & the front Brembos. May require a test fit to make sure

Thanks for the reply, about the spokes clearing the wheels are a set of Advan T5's if anyone has had experience with those?

Looking into purchasing my next set of wheels and tires, but I have a few questions regarding fitment.

I have stock fenders that are rolled, I can still pull them and gain some clearance also, but was wondering what the best fitment would be from your experiences.

Tire size is going to be 215/35/18

Wheel options are as follows;

18x8.5 +35mm
18x8.5 +20mm

18x9.5 +35mm
18x9.5 +20mm

18x11 +20mm

I have no problem having a staggered fitment and running different tire widths front to back. As long as the height is proportional given out vehicles are AWD.

I am leaning towards the 18x9.5 +20 with a 215/35/18 Tire size. I think it will leave an aggressive stance, and the x11 is too wide for stock panels without flares.

Or would the 18x9.5 +35mm be a better fitment?

EDIT: I think the 18x9.5 +35 would be my best bet with a 20mm bolt on spacer up front.

Shouldnt have any issues w/your strange recipe
The +35 in the rear is a no brainer & the super stretch doesnt hurt fitment. The 215 is just barely OK for the 8.5" width

Good call on staying away from that 11" wide wheel

Would rather see you run a more common road & track worthy set-up

i think i am going to go with the 225/40/18 tire instead. Would it be better off to do a +20 up front and a +35 in the rear?

So I am a noob when it comes to wheel fitments and setups and here are a couple of simple questions hoping someone could advise me on;

Wheels: 17 x 8.5'' 30mm offset
tires: 255-40r17
Will be running aftermarket coilovers as well.

I am looking to mount them without using any spacers. I test fitted the rim and it clears the front Brembos with no problem (with approx 1/4'' clearance).

Q1: Stock lug nuts don't seem to fit, do I need after market ones? any recommendations?
Q2: anything else I should look out for?

Thanks in advance!
