MinusPrevious....So called the Mackin Rep. For my setup he said Gram Lights in all my choices (18x9.5) will require spacers for any offsets over +22.

The 18x8.5 will clear brembos in +37 offsets. I am trying to wrap my head around this clearance.

So now suggestions, 8.5 vs 9.5. I was told +22 will require fender roll no pulling which is in line with what has been said here.

I have my 5Zigen for track, so these rims mainly for daily. So, y'all recommend 8.5s or 9.5s

I want Advans, but sale and wait kinda is pushing me towards the Gram Lights....And the Dark blue helps too.

Most us of wheel guys would likely try and steer you towards a 9.5" or a 9" wide. Im a 17" guy & run the following: Advan RGII 17x9 +29 (no spacer) & the Rota P45R 17x9.5+30 (no spacer). Both wheels run the Federal 265/40/17

Let me know what youre looking at & i can do the clearance math but unless we have some previous clearance history will not be able to comment on the front spacer requirement

I think i will be getting the quote for the 18x9.5 +22 in the 57xtremes in dark blue. No front spacers according to Mackin Tech. 255/40/18s Michelin PSS.

I love my 17s, and it will now be track dedicated.

Thanks for quick reply M.P.

So, they finally arrived. Gram Light 57Xtremes, 18x9.5 +22; on 255/35/18s. Tires are a little too stretched for my taste, but they will do for now.

On stock suspension, rear fender lip will be rolled. Do you think I will need to do bumper bolt relocation right now. I know I will when I move up tire size for sure.

Hey the wheels / tires look great @roro4g63

The +22 in the 9.5 is on the aggressive side for sure. Personally i think youre going to be into it for more than just a roll, including the bumper bolt relocation. These setups need a bit of fender pull as well

Try the pull to start. Remove one of the rear struts & disconnect the rear sway bar end link. With that wheel jack, push the wheel into the well until about 3/4 of the side wall is hidden in the well. That will surely tell ya how much more clearance is needed

Wheels for evo ix

Hi i have tried to figur out what the largest 18" wheel that fit an evo ix with coil overs.
I dont want to modify the fenders and the tyre needs to be flush with the rim, so no stretch
I have looked at some advan RS II in either 18x8,5 et 31 or 18x9 et 35.
Any sugestions?

Hi @Michael Jensen

Well, based on your notes of no fender work, you have picked a couple of proper sizes. I like the 18x9 +35 the best. Tire choice will certainly affect the fit. The most popular aggressive size is the well known 255/40's

Consider doing the rear fender roll which really opens up the fit possibility to reduce any tire rub

If you have other questions, let me know

Wont the 255 be to narrow for a 9 inch rim?
Do you have any other rim recommendation in style with either the advans or te37 like just without breaking the bank? 🤣🤣

Thank for the help its greatly appriciated

235 to 265 is the allowable range for the 9" wheel

Yeah, there are so many wheel choices. I have both extremes, the Advan RGII series & a set of Rotas. The Advans were meant for the track & the Rotas for the street. The TE's are just the best as Volk is such a good brand

Suggesting wheels is super tough but the WedsSports is a good brand & they have some wheels that fit w/out spacers (just not sure off hand which model (TC105). a quick forum search would find them)

255/40/18 is too big already in diameter. Should be 245/40/18 or 265/35/18.

Both are excellent fit for CT9A.

255 is the perfect match with 9j width. 245 is a bit stretched but still ok while 265 is wider to offer more protection. Just don't go smaller than 245 in 9j width.

Youre right. I had my head in 17" territory when i wrote that. But, I do prefer a 40 series on the 18's as the 35 series looks a bit too thin (non aggressive)

But, yeah a 40 series 18 is large in circumference & makes fitment a bit tough

It is ratio to the width, so 255/40 has 10.2cm sidewall height which is already too tall on an 18. If 40 profile on 18, can only fit max 245/40/18 (max 9j) which is 9.8cm sidewall or 235/40/18 (max 8.5j) at 9.4cm sidewall. I am using 255/35 now at only 8.9cm sidewall, too thin for my liking. I have bought a set of Konig Hypergram 17x9j et35, planning to use 255/40/17, then will be lighter and more comfortable.

But does the 265/35-18 fit without modifying the wheel arches?
The 245 will be to narrow on a 9 inch for my liking so i will go 8,5 instead if that will be the tyre size.

W/a 265 on a 9" +35, expect to roll the rear fenders (its going to be very close)!

W/the roll, you can lower the rear end w/out fear of tire rub and you wont have to run out of spec Neg camber
