I haven’t come across any 5mm spacers that came with studs yet, also since the fronts are getting spaced out, is it going to have adverse effects on the drivetrain since it won’t be a squared set up anymore essentially?

The wheel will flex under load. More than you might expect. Or you can get tiny rocks or sand coming through and getting wedge in that space. If it makes a little contact on jackstands, it could make a lot of contact on the road.

Better to get some spacers and do it right.

On my other car (not an Evo) I barely have 3mm clearance between the spokes and calipers, probably more like just 2mm, and it's been like that for more than 5 years without any issues whatsoever. The wheels are forged Volk Racing as well. So IMHO you don't need that much spacing, not as much as 5mm.

Both are worthy as long as they are hub centric. I ran the H&R 5mm many years ago but had some issue w/vibration at speed so i sold them (studs were included in the kit). But even being hub centric dont think they are wheel hub centric

Just test fitted with the 5mm spacers Here’s how they currently fit on the car the tire size is a bit off, probably going to roll with some 265/35/18 pilot sport cups

I just bought a set of te37 sagas 18x9.5 +22. I was wondering what size tires do I have to get without rolling the fenders?
I'm using kw variant 3 coilovers.

Pretty sure 3-4mm is the required spoke to caliper clearance. Looks OK from those pics! Wheels look good!

@Nocti-Evo Running that +22 in the 9.5" width will require a rear roll (at the minimum) regardless of tire size. The proper tire range for a 9.5" tire is: 245 to 275. Running a 245 will be a slight stretch & actually looks pretty good. Makes the 245 look wider than it really is. Keep in mind that wheel is very aggressive so rear fender work is needed!

Thanks, I’d say it’s probably right around 3mm clearance now. You think the 265/35/18, would a good size with these wheels?

LOL, i had to go back i see what spec wheel you have (18x9.5 +38 ). Yeah, a 265/35 is well within the wheel spec. That wheel will accept a 275 (thats what i run)

265/35 will look nice & healthy, especially looking at the rear

No real fender issues with that size? Or maybe just a small roll?

I think a rear roll will be needed w/that 265 to fully clear. Maybe some additional neg camber (i.e. -1.8 degrees)

The +38 really helps w/the fit w/out too much rear work

Even fender roll might not be enough to fully clear with that wheel spec no matter what tire size you use. My tuner Evo uses exactly that same spec with 265/35/18 tires (which is the ideal tire size for that width), -2° camber and fender rolled and still will rub at the rear if got passenger behind. Unless you set your coilovers a bit high and very stiff and/or running more extreme camber then might clear.

So this is 18x10.5 +15..keep in mind, I have not placed any weight upon the car, so there's technically no camber set in place during these pictures..think a 255/35 tire will be ok and not hit the strut, or am I just hitting it way too close..

Hello

+15 is way out of the question on a stock bodied EvO. When you add in the 10.5" that really puts it out of reach of working in the stock rears. This is wide body territory for sure. We do have some track guys (AutoX) that run a +38 in a 10.5 on stock bodied rears but it needs a lot of cutting & pulling & special lower control arms to make it work. The difference between the +38's & the +15 is 23mm (.90")

But, if youre not looking for true fender clearance & want this for show purposes only, then the +15 could be mounted but driving w/them will be very tough & likely dangerous

Heres the 10.5" thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...-will-fit.html

Let me know if you have other questions / Cheers, Joe
