Rpf1 17x8.5 35mm I believe no spacers nothing done to fenders. A truly functional fit super light and affordable no dealing with spacers or fender work.

Yes, that looks nice! He noted the 8" wheel which is too narrow. The 8.5 looks OK for sure!

hey guys,

I just installed a set of swift springs on my Lancer Evolution 8 on the factory wheels. I absolutely love the handling with absolutely no rubbing or anything. I have a set of 17mm spacers (front and rear). If installed, does anyone know if that would cause rubbing issues on factory wheels? I imagine it would but just wanted to confirm. If so, I'll probably just leave it on stock wheels rather than having to deal with wheel rub and/or fending rolling as I like to keep it all OEM+

Certainly very possible that rub will occur. Adding the 17mm spacer will give the factory wheels an effective offset of +21 which is very aggressive. No doubt rear fender work will be required but tire size will affect the amount of work

Yup exactly given the factory 35 offset, and my factory tire specs at 235/45R17, I agree that the 17mm will undoubtedly cause some unwanted rubbing.

Thanks for the input MinusPrevious!

Ce28n with high hp

Hey everyone I'm in the process of building my relatively stock evo 9 to 700 hp. I want ce28ns as my wheels, I want to have the most grip as possible. I was looking at possibly 17*9.5, I know 18*9.5 is very popular as well. Just want to have the most grip / function as possible.

@Terabytes Either the 17" or 18" will work well for sure. The 9.5" width helps w/loading in a wider tire. Tire compound will certainly play a role in overall grip as well as tire size

For a 9.5 wheel, the approved tire range is: 245 to 275. Running a 275 on the EvO will require rear fender work & the wheel offset will affect the amount of work as well. For me, ive been on 17's for the most part. My street setup is: 17x9.5" +30 running a 275 wide tire (240 treadwear rated tire)

Try and settle on a wheel size & offset. Pick a tire that you want to run. If youre looking for grip, stay w/an aggressive treadwear rated tire in the range of 240 & below. For street driving i wouldnt recommend anything below a 200 treadwear unless you dont mind the cost / hassle of buying new tires

Any questions, let me know

This is perfect! What are the tire specs again? Also are you running a spacer?

Those are poor mans ROTA P45R 17x9.5 +30 (no front spacer needed) 265/40 Federal EVO tires (Feds run 1 size wide. They measure 275)

Just to confirm your running no spacer in the rear right? Also do you think the pilot sports would fit similarly?

Yeah, for sure no spacer in the rear. There are no wheels that i know of that would fit the front caliper but not the rear. Keep in mind, to fit my setup took a lot of rear fender work. Some owners would not feel comfortable w/the amount of rear fender work i had done

If you settle up on a wheel & tire size, i can run the numbers on the wheel & tire calculator & will let ya know what it will take to fit

Cheers, Joe

I've pretty much decided on 17x9.5 not sure of the offset though. Sorry for asking you so many questions but that would you recommend? The 17/265/40 seems like that's the tire I'm going with
