Have sent emails to rota but still waiting for a reply.
Did a fair amount of thread searching & could not find 1 internet posting of the Grid in 18x9.5 +30. No easy way for us to determine caliper clearance w/out a forum comment or a real test fit. You can try searching Fitment Industries & see if anyone has posted

Now I am more lost.

Driftworks say the Rota Grid ET30 has good brake clearance and "should" clear the caliper, while
Rota USA office says that ET20 is required for the front.

i can purchase 2x ET20 and 2x ET30.
Question is will 9.5j , 20 offset work on the front on coilovers with negative camber ? Will the front fender need any work ?

Sorry for all the questions, new to the Evo world and there is very limited info available in South Africa, almost none.

Yeah sure, the +20 will work OK up front but expect some liner rub at lock positions. The +20 will not have coilover contact issues. No front fender work needed aside from the liner rub somewhat dependent on ride height. The fronts are much more forgiving. Sorry you cant do a test fit w/the +30's. As you know, my +30 Rotas clear the front caliper just fine w/no spacer.

You can run mixed offsets front to rear if really needed but its not the best as wheel rotation can not be done. Let me know if you have other questions

Cheers, Joe

Thanks Joe.
Are you also using Rota Grids ?

I did more searching and found posts on LancerReg where guys had to use +20 Grids to clear the caliper.

I dont mind running the mixed offset, car is not daily so may be doing rotations once a year or so.

thanks again for all your time.
cheers
Vivek

Placed my order for Rota Grids in Bronze, to go on my black Evo9.
18x9.5
+20 front
+30 rear

would rather have the correct wheel instead of using spacers.
using 255/35 tires on D2 coilovers.
Wheels will only be fitted in the next 2 months or so, as car is planned to go into workshop for clutch replacement and engine refresh.
Pics to follow.

Wow, Congrats. Well you will know if the +30 can work in the front but your staggered offset recipe certainly looks OK. We look fwd to the update

Ce28n fitment

Hello, 👋🏻
I’m all the way from Northern Ireland and I’m Looking to change it up a little with my car. Was thinking of going for the ce28n set up but don’t want to touch the wings as I’m looking to keep the car original.
The car in sitting on the 17-inch Speedline Turini on a 235/45 AD08 R tyre at the min with the Bilstein dampers. Looking to stay with the 17s but don’t know how much I can get away with. Don’t want any rubbing when going over any bumps and so on.
Obviously I’m looking for a big offset that makes the Ce28n but I know I won’t get that with out rolling wings. But what can I get away with to make the car sit well? I know the more the offset I go I will need spacers to clear the Calipers. Could I use a 17x9 / Offset +22? Or is that to much of an offset ?
Also changing the suspension but that question can wait for another time.

Any way any help on this would be much appreciated.

Hello @Jonnywm

Which EvO do you have? CT9A? If so, that +22 will certainly require rolling the rears. A better fit would be 17x9 +35

Let me know & Cheers, Joe

@Jonnywm Lets say you go w/the 17x9 +22 & run the most often used 255/40 tire

Heres the layout vs my setup. Just wanted you to know that the +22 can work but will certainly need the following (rear fender roll, bumper bolt relocation & likely a rear fender pull)
If you have another wheel you want me to look at just let me know.

As noted, you may want to look at offsets above +34 & keep the wheel width to 9" max

Hey guys. So I am currently on 17x9 +22 with 235/45 and I am looking to move to a more tucked or flush look as I don't like the poke of my current setup.

I have decided I want to go down the 18-inch path. The wheel I am looking at is the Work GT5 which comes in 18X9 +38 or +30. The +38 version will require front spacers for the brakes. I plan to use a 245/40/18 tyre. Will I have any issues with the +30 set up or should I go with a +38 and run a front spacer as required?

Any ideas on how to fit a 295mm tire on an 18x10 inch rim in an offset that will fit an Evo X??

I too run a +30 wheel in a 9.5" & have another wheel pkg at +29 on a 9". Both give a relatively flush setup. So i would prefer your idea of the 18x9 +30 and as you noted, no spacer is required. You were running that +22 so i would imagine you have had the rears rolled?
