Tire / Wheel Fitment Questions

Anyone know where to get metal valve stems? Since I'm changing tires, thought it might be nice to get some metal valve stems in the wheels, add a little bling/style Did some quick googling, no dice. Was hoping Muteki would make some but nada...

Hey, I am pro rolling the rear fender for sure (at the minimum), but the modest offset & wheel size, that requires minimal rear fender work, is near these specs:
Figure on running no wider than a 255 series.
Let me know what you think & if you have any other questions
I have a GG Evo 9 on lowering springs Lowered 1.4" Front and 1.2" Rear
I'm looking to get into TE37SL or Sagas and wanted to know what the most ideal fitment spec/offset would be for minimal/zero modifications needed. I'm running stock bbs wheels so this will be my first pair of wheels that are aftermarket for the car.
Thanks in advance and let me know if you need any other info.

Wheel size and fitment
Will AVID 1 AV6 18.5X9.5+24mm wheels fit on an evo 9 without spacers and also what size of tire would work? Thanks!

- The 18x9.5 +24 is certainly an aggressive wheel, mostly because of the +24 offset. If you really want true rear fender clearance, some serious rear fender rolling, pulling & a few other tricks will be needed
- Regarding the spacer, thats a tough question unless someone has run this wheel & can offer their fitment experience. No simple way to calculate caliper clearance.
- As far as tires, there are a lot of choices depending on many factors (fender clearance, price, etc) but generally speaking 255/35 or 265/35 or a 40 series tire if you want that added profile height? You could even run a 275/35 if you want to do the fender clearancing, but that +24 offset will present some serious challenges

Just a quick update. I was able to mount the RT660s on my existing setup (5Zigen 17X9 +35) and get them to fit. However there is only like 2MM of clearance between the tire now and the front axle strut lower spring perch, lol! I thought we might have to do some minor grinding on the spring perch, but fortunately that turned out not to be the case...

That RT660 is an aggressive track day oriented tire & likely runs wide Looks like toe wear on the take-off?

Need to know what your current 17x9.5 ROTA setup is. What rear fender work has been done? Certainly the offset is needed. Its stamped on the inside of all the wheels in the hub area.
Let me know when you can. Cheers, Joe

Are they ROTA by chance? @Boostindsm22 The +32 would be a better offset for rear fender fit. But running a 255 / 265 tire, expect a rear roll, & possible rear bumper bolt re-location required. The staggered idea can work, but will likely eliminate the ability to rotate. Certainly better to keep the offsets all the same

My curiosity w/your current set up is this:
- What size tire is on there now?
- What rear fender work has been done?
- Any rear fender rub at all?
The rear fender work needed to clear the rear will be close to this
- Rear fender roll
- Rear fender pull
- Bumper bolt relocation
- Possible aggressive neg rear camber needed (-1.8 degrees)

My curiosity w/your current set up is this:
i have brand new 255/35/18 PS4 tires i want to use for new wheels i was looking at avid1 av6 they come in 18x9.5 +18 or +24 or +32 or +38 they also have 18x8.5 +35 as a option im looking for a good fit with no spacers and flush no crazy poke etc i don't mind having the rear fenders rolled if needed
- What size tire is on there now? 245/40/17 bf super sports
- What rear fender work has been done? no rear fender work
- Any rear fender rub at all? no rub im on fortune auto coils and about a 2 finger gap also JDM rear bumper not sure if that matters
- also running ssb rear lower arms

The +32 is good offset & not overly aggressive.
You may be able to just do a rear fender roll, w/some aggressive rear camber running that 255/35. On the staggered setup i would stay away from running a +22 up front w/a +32 or higher in the rear. But, to each his own if you dont mind losing the rotation ability

Falken RT660 255/40/17 on 17X9 +35
UPdate:
So I was hooning around in the local mountains last weekend and it looks like I am getting some minor rubbing under load/cornering, right on that lip in the rear fender. I was looking to have the fender rolled, but worried about 15 year old (factory) paint cracking on me...someone suggested trying to add negative camber to the rear wheels 1st and see if that helps. Now I've been driving the car with the same camber specs for the past 10+ years or so....will adding like .2 negative camber in the rear affect handling that much? Is that idea feasible (to help with rub)?
Thanks!

Yeah, it doesn't take too much to rub the EVO rear, even at that modest 9" wheel @ +35 w/the 255. Sure going w/-2 degrees of camber will help. (-1 degree is the factory spec)
I run -2 degrees myself!
The rear roll is really needed. A good paint guy can fix / treat any paint cracking due to the roll. Its not a big deal to get it rolled & the paint correction is really not noticeable if needed

What are your thoughts on the below fitments for overall best stock fitment?
17x9 +22
18x9 +35
18x9.5 +38
18x9.5 +22
I've been told 18x9.5 with inset of +22 clears both front and rear brembos without the need for spacers and only fender rolling needed with 245/35 tire not sure if either of the two I listed would accommodate that as well, thanks in advance for the reply!
