I'm considering the Advan RS-DF in a 18x9 +31. Wanting to run 255/35/18's. Currently stock suspension but looking into putting in Swift Spec R's. I couldn't find any mentions of anyone running these. Would a front spacer be needed and what about rolling the rear fenders?

you're the best one to determine the answer, since you have a current wheel/tire/suspension setup. just enter your current and new dimensions here. you can adjust offsets by adding the spacer thickness to determine where your wheel/tires needs to be

@jthodel Many ADVANs have that GTR spoke design which are friendly to the front Brembos. I have a set of their RGII's in 17x9 +29 & they clear. But the rear is where your attention is needed as well. Running a 255 on a 9" wheel at +31 expect a rear roll & likely some camber over specification (i.e. -1.8) to properly clear

MinusPrevious, is the rear camber adjustment needed on stock suspension or if lowered?

The roll & camber adjustment is so your tire fully clears the rear fender w/out contact. Try this in the pic below & that will give you a good idea if rear fender treatment or aggressive camber is needed (lowered suspension or not) (note: one strut & swaybar connection must be removed to do this!)

Just to update on my front 18x10.5 +38 285/30/18 fitment. 12mm spacers seem to work just fine. The tires stick out a lot less than they did with 20mm spacers. I'm comfortable with the strut clearance for now.

I still want to try 295s eventually, so that the top of 2nd gear is more useful in autocross, we'll see what happens.

If my ugly front ride height upsets you, my response is this:

Nicely done for sure. Youve done one of the prescribed setups for fitting the 10.5's. Kinda forgot what rear fender work did you do?

The fronts are now at an offset of +26 so the extra finger gap & the solid corner balance are the way to go!

Was that a WestEnd setup?

The alignment and corner balance was done by Road Race Engineering, I think camber was 3 up front? I forgot, maybe 3.5. The car isn't built to any specific class, I just know that at every event there's always some damned S2000 faster than me.

Been a RRE customer more than a few times. Didnt know they did corner balancing, but confident they are capable of that procedure for sure!

Same here. When I asked about alignments they referred me to Chewerks.

Yeah, i would rather have Chewerks work on my suspension then RRE. They are closer to me anyway!

Desmond Regamaster 17x9 +34 Fitment

Hello all!

I used the search bar and couldn't find anything, so I hope I don't get flamed for asking the question.

Does anyone know if the Desmond Regamaster in a 17x9 +34 size would work with a Evo IX RS on Swift lowering springs?

I would rather not run spacers or roll fenders.

Many thanks!

Hello fellow RS owner @MADevoIX
  • Well, just based on the size, 17x9 +34 that is a homerun in regards to what the CT9A rear end can handle
  • They look pretty cool & if fitted w/a nice meaty tire (no less than a 255/40) it will look good
  • Running a 255 expect a rear roll for sure & maybe some neg camber if needed (i.e. -1.5 to -1.8 degrees)
  • Cant comment on the front spacer question as there is no simple way to determine that w/out test fitting. Might be close just based on the looks, as the spokes dont have any sweep to them as far as i can see
Any other questions, let me know / Cheers,
