I have 17x8 5Zigen Typhoons with a +27 offset and am running 245 tires. They didnt need any spacers or hubcentric rings...Heres a pic

Wheel: Enkei RS-5
Size/offset: 17x7 5-100/114 40
Price: ~140$/wheel from Discount Tire
These are a 5 spoke design. I was surprised that a 17x7 wheel fits, but it does. Clears calipers by a mm or so. I drove around with the windows down to make sure it wasn't rubbing when turning or braking.
I'll add some weight info as well. On my bathroom digital scale, the stock Enkeis with ~60% worn advans and lots of brake dust weighed 44 lbs (no lug nuts). The Enkei RS-5 with brand new 235 45 17 Falken Z1-EX all seasons weighed 43 lbs.
Here is a pic on my car:

Per jbrennan's post here is more info:
Hubcentric rings were required and provided by DiscountTire in my case. Also provided were gorilla lug nuts.
</edit>
Take care,

Just took these, in silver, OFF my evo. Didnt like the silver so much and decided to go with the gunmetal with polished lip, waiting for them to arrive in about a week. Rims are 18x8.5 Enkei PK6s

The Advan TC-II's you see here:
http://www.gruppe-s.com/Advan/advan_evo.htm
are the same thing as the Axis Reverbs. As a matter of fact, I think Axis makes them for Advan. They are the same identical wheel and the Axis version is $300 a wheel while the Advan sells for $682 in the 18x8.5 version. What a rip off!
Just to add to this guide, I have Axis Reverbs 18x8.5 with a +35 offset. THey fit perfectly and clear the front by at least 1 cm. The back is even better of course.

But most probably I will go with the 18x8.5" size.
What offset would be best for me? and what size tires should I go with?
Thanks!

That wheel has a tapered lip which means the center is 1" smaller than the outside. For example, the 18" wheel actually uses a 17" center. Its lighter than a GT-3 in the same size because of the smaller center.
I'll try to get availability dates for you

In general, simply knowing the wheel's diameter, width, and offset is not enough -- those won't tell you whether the wheel will clear the front calipers.
