^+43 is awfully high offset. I'd look for 18x8.5 in the +35-+38 range. You can go as low as +29 but that really depends on wheel shape and tire selection. I'd run a 255/35 18 as well

I am kinda noobish, so maybe this is a dumb question. But I always thought the inside diameter of the tire always had to match the wheel diameter? You are talking about putting 18" diameter tires on a stock wheel, which is 17". Will the tire actually form a good airtight seal against the wheel? This is the first post where I noticed somebody proposing this mismatch, but then again, plenty of very experienced posters have already replied to your question, and nobody mentioned the mismatch. I just wanted to spotlight it and make sure it's really ok.

Somebody in this thread mentioned that they are running 18x9 with +35 offset and 255/30/18 tires with no rubbing problems. I have a Evo IX MR with stock suspension, and would like to ask somebody to confirm that this would work for my car. If you are actually running this setup, AND you have a IX MR stock, I'd appreciate your confirmation!

^ I think you mean 255/35 18. Zero rubbing issues bro. I used to run 17x9 +35 with 255/40 tires and am lowered. Zero issues. Now I run 255/35 18 on a 18x9 +29 offset and still have no rubbing issues. +35 is a very mild offset. Run the 255/35 18 as it is much closer to the stock overall diameter. You will be fine even with a lowered suspension...

Hey thanks man! Which wheel and tire combo do you currently have with the 18x9 and +29 offset (i mean, specific brand/model etc)?

Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec.....it will flat out crush the 615 in every category including wet traction. 255/40 17 will run you $156 a tire from Tire Rack and are a steal for the performance you get.

I ran them on my 17" (255/40) and on my 18" (255/35). The price for the 18" is comparable to other tires in it's class but the price for the 17" is what makes it a killer bargain. I don't know how into the Evo scene you are but these tires are pretty much THE tire to have right now for street , light track, and autox. Trust me I did A LOT of research when looking for replacement tires. I read reviews, talked to venders, and talked to people who have owned a wide variety of tires both race and street. The Falken 615 was a great tire. 3 years ago when it came out. It has simply been eclipsed by better compounds and tread designs. You don't have to take my word for it though. Do a search for Dunlop Z1 or Best Street Tire and read all the threads that come up. If you don't think the tire is a good match for you at least you will have read alot of review and opinions on other tires as well.....
