Spring spins in Spring Perch???

I posted another thread about uneven ride height and some knocking sounds I was having but no one replied I think do to the crummy Title.

Anyway my drivers side front is sitting 3/4" higher than the passenger side.

I thought maybe the spring was misaligned or something.

Well I took a look today and noticed that the rubber gaurd that goes around the sring perch was sitting under the spring along with a ****load of dirt and gravel.

I was able to spin the spring around and get most of the dirt and the rubber gaurd out from under it. Unfortunately this meant ripping the gaurd in two and pulling it out.

But my concern is that I was able to rotate the spring fairly easily on the drivers side and not the passenger side.

Also I tried to torque the strut stud nut on top and it just turned the spring when i did.

Is this normal?

Is my strut mount bad or something?
