tires keep getting eaten up, please help
So my car is a 06 evo ix. It's sitting on tien springs with stock shocks. My wheels are 18x9 rota svn with 255/35 tires. So my problem is with the rear diver side tire. The tire eventually gets a gash on the inside. I don't know what's rubbing agwinst if or causes the gash but it has happened twice already. Anyone ever have a similiar problem? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance guys.

teins are horrible springs. they are TOO low and TOO soft! now compound with your extra aggressive 18x9 and your issue is a given. also my hunch is you havent really received a professional alignment job, have you?
i feel most evom vendors gave up on tein springs because any educated evo owner knows they are crap. its the used springs that are constantly falling into noob/naive hands and they live on. trash it or (immorally) pettle it to the next noob lol.

well i use tanabe springs but i cant say they are best. they are decent and i scored an amazing combo deal. most will agree w/ me swift or gtworx are the best balanced springs on evom, just remember they dont give you that lowered look as that will cause issues as you experienced 1st hand. swift and gtworx are geared for handling improvements but barely shorter then stock.

yes and yes. if you were on stock size on stock springs, there is no way inside tire wall would hit any fender or suspension parts. as said there are springs out there that will allow you to run 18x9's safely with minimum/no rubbing provided your alignment specs are good.
teins are so bad even if you are on stock shocks/wheels, you will destroy them quickly anyhow.

You are more than likely hitting some type of inner suspension component or body work for this to happen to your tires on the inside. Have you examined the area carefully after removing the wheel to check for any rub marks? Since you are hitting the inside of the tire you could try a 1-5mm spacer on the rear of the car and pull the rear fenders out a little further. It seems easier to make room on the outside of the tire by pulling out or rolling the fender than it is making room on the inside.
What I've heard about teins they will eventually blow out your struts or might have already.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Wolf - H&R refuses to put out spring rate specs on their springs on this car. Cannot recommend them.
First off, agree on Teins. No bueno.
Secondly, what offset are your rims?
