Tire test (UK EVO mag)

Very interesting how the Evo mag rates thoses tires.

The Hankook V12 finished almost last in 8th.

Car and Driver rated it in second last year.
Diffirent magazine, different opinions. Interesting thought how they can rate them so differently.

They seem to list the tire as a K12. Too, quite a few of the tires tested are not available here, nor would it make sense that the rest of the compounds are identical relative to what is available to us.

Edit: I ran a quick search for a K12, and it may be a typo.

IIRC the complete name for the Hankooks is V12 Evo K110 so that may be where the "k" is coming from.

Regardless, thanks for posting this however I feel that this test is lacking the completeness that the C&D test had. Specifically this test included a bunch of "Max Performance Summer Tires" and then the Yoko AD08 is thrown in there which is considered an "Extreme Performance Summer Tire"

Maybe that was intentional in order to give the some sort of perspective on what they are capable of, but if your going to do that then why not also throw in some RE11's or Star Specs?

They don't list the weights for each test, but if you add the scores they achieved an average rating of 5.5/9. Therefore, it is hard to understand the overall rating of 8/9.

I think they have about the same criteria as in objective and subjective tests. More emphasis on real day to day driving and in a country that rains a lot too.
Would be good to really have the data as we don't know if theses tests were on a big track or else.

Just find it interesting to have more input from other magazines.

Hope it's not a repost. Look at the results at page 5, WOW the Conti DW eclipsing the star spec, AD08, R1R etc etc. guess the 340 is conservative.
Also 5 lbs lighter than the star spec. Are they even in the same category?

I'm using the spec right now guess I,ll try the DW next...

I have a set of DWs on my Mustang. No way they have more grip than the Z1* or that class. Have Z1* on another car.

I've AX'd on them a few times. They let go and car goes all over the place.

Ok cool thanks for the reply. I guess "euro"tuner gave a better review to the "euro" Continental LOL.

I guess I'll stick to Z1 for now....again.

They wear well. Decent feel. But not in the same league as the Z1*, RE11, AD08s
