coilover advice 2011

FYI - picked up used Ohlins with approx 6k miles, (PCV, similar to the DFV before they were released) with the original receipt from WORKS, approx $3k+, with rear pillowball mounts, and front camber plates... $800 shipped. Deals are there... just be patient, took my approx 7 months of checking 2x a day to find that... was worth every bit of effort.

I am throwing my vote up for Fortune Auto coilovers. I finally got to race against another evo with bilsteins and swift spec r's and ran a consistant 2-2.5 seconds faster then him on a mid sixty second course. Also to note he was running star specs and I am running Hankook Evo's and this was my third event compared to him having over a year of autox under his belt. After today I feel more assured that my lower end coilovers are worth every penny I bought them for. It seems my results are opposite of what everyone says about the budget coilover vs. bilsteins/swifts.

I PM'd you the detailed info on your options for order HSD. But in a nutshell you easiest option is www.rickchong.com
Rick is a trust source for current generation EVO X and Lancer body styling mods. But he has not committed to designing new lip kits for older EVO's and now getting into the performance side of things.
Hands down based on the feedback of so many UK EVO owners. I have yet to find anyone to say anything negative about them. Second point., The just dont seem to fail. The soak up a lot of abuse and keep going which tends to stand out. I would claim they are invulnerable, but I am still looking for reviews out there for the past 4 years that show people dealing with failures... still cant find very many. I got a chance to prototype test a few new applications over here in North American, and to be honest. For the money. Great value.

HSD is made by HD Systems in Korea.
A Coilover that has carved a pretty good name for itself in European Circles. Many Years ago Drift Works became a European Distributor for HSD coilovers with great success. Many Previous Gen EVO owners in the UK and in Australia have used the kit with positive reviews. Fast forward to today, HSD has expanded to North America. So if the name doesnt seem familure, see what other EVO owners on Lancer Register forum have to say.
HSD's number one feature would be its rugged / durable build quality. Its something that you will see from just about every owner of the kit. It lasts, and lasts and lasts. lol you get the point. Its a mid range kit that will offer multiple levels of adjustment for an affordable cost.
Thats HSD in a nutshell

These arguments are getting old. Rates are wrong for the CT9A. Quality looks like every other cheap coil-over out there. I could care less about what some drift-o's in the UK say.

His experience and the fact that he looked smoother than I did around the track. I have 430whp and he has 360whp but in an autox that doesn't really matter as you don't have enough room to really stretch the cars legs. It is a broad statement as I have only raced against one evo. Having said that I still have to disagree with EVERYONE who says lower end coils will handle like junk. I took 7th out of 61 cars on my second autox and have to give some of that credit to my suspension. Take into account this was with the Porsche Club of America and not an SCCA event.

Bump for re-valved/w spec r's 5 events and I do like them also, they work fairly well for the street as well.
