Does anyone rebuild power steering pumps?
#16
BECAREFUL with the rock auto rebuild. I purchased one for my car, It had 2 problems
1. The thing was painted black all the way around. It looks like they never attempted to clean it before they painted it. It started flaking off just by me picking it up! I said its ok I'll clean it later.
2. Then I spun the pulley and it was wobbling much worse then mine! I was not going to install a piece that probably worse then mine. I called and they told me they stopped using that distributer and now are using someone else(so my luck I got the last one?) Returned it and got a store credit which I still haven't used yet.
PS: my power steering pump was making aloud tapping sound at start up until the fluid warms up. Once the fluid got warm you wouldn't hear anything. I took off the belt and spun the wobbly pulley and it was clearly making the noise.
