Also for the OP, the federal 265 will be wider than most 265's out there. It's a wide tire.

It's no problem to make 275 fit. It's a problem to get ones. I'm not in U.S. or anywhere close to civilized world.

Very valuable! Thank you!
What about 245 Z1s? Are they close to "mass" 255 or what?

No they won't. Have you driven on either? In the same size perhaps 1 in 10 people could notice a difference. A 265 595rs/r will have slower turn in response than a 245 z-1 star spec, but will have greater overall traction, road conditions being equal.

Star Specs are a great tire, but if your going to be tracking that car you will find most cempetitive drivers out there will run the NT01 (or even the NT05 if you need street tires). They last for just about forever, are very predictable, come in many sizes and the price isnt that bad.

I was driving my previous evo ix with NT01 for 5 years. The problem is - they (nitto) don't make anything between 245 and 275... And it cost me $600 and nearly two month to get ones from U.S. So 275/35/18" is going to be my next year setup But I need something to drive this summer...

The eagle F1's aren't THAT bad. If I were you, I'd order a nice big tire that fits really well that is also going to last a little while and run the F1's until then. 285/30?

I dunno, I'd say the F1's are ok to about 400whp. After my last tune, which pushed me over 450whp, they started to get a little sketchy. As far as the OP's choices go, I'd run the wider RS-R.

OK, found Yokohama Advan 048 in the same size 245 40 18. Are they wider on rim compared to Z1s?
P.S. It's still $1000 for a set of 4 so price does not matter.

There's a lot of bad information in this thread about the federal's, mostly from people who haven't used them much less heard of them. Take a look at this link https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...l-595rs-r.html

From what I see on your pics Federal is at least one inch wider compared to the same "stamped" size NITTO? If it's correct 265/35/18 are not going to fit as "standard" size 275s do rub (

That picture is deceiving. That is all four tires stacked on their sides. Do the 265 federal and forget about it. A048 is a great tire, but its noisy and sucks at life unless you get it hot. Also wears very fast.
