extra $x,xxx for 20lbs worth of savings not worth it, lucky enough to be under 150lbs so I got that covered, just dont want anything heavier then stock. Just bought a set of R comps so i will probably get another set of stock wheels and put them on there. Car got fastest time of day 2 times and missed a 3rd last week by .008(not kidding) on stock MR wheels and Hankook R-S3's which are amazing once they get some heat in them just be aware pressures jump quickly. 4 back to back runs got me up 12psi ! ! ! !

You have to run a spacer for most RPF1s in 17s on an evo.. NT03+m 17x9.5 +38 is a great fit. I hear that you can run a 255/40/17 without fender rolling or pulling. The wheel even clears most BBKs

Most people like the 18" versions for the concave look. In all honesty the convex 17x9.5 +38 doesn't look bad at all. A set will cost well under $1000. They are strong, relatively light (20.1lbs) and 17" tires are obviously much cheaper than 18's. I wouldn't mind having a 17" RE30 or something like that, but you just can't argue with the bang for the buck factor.
If the 17" RPF1 didn't require a spacer up front, I'd choose them for the signifigant weight difference. I'd rather run the NT03+m and not have to worry about a spacer. Also, the NT03+m doesn't stick out in the front like the RPF1's do.
I only wish that OEM BBS wheels were 17x9. That would be the ultimate all-around Evo wheel.

If you do 17x8.5 RPF1 you might as well find the stock Evo X wheels and run 18s for cheaper. One of my friends did that and he fit a 265 no problem. Enkei told me that they were getting another container of wheels in on the 16th of July.. We'll see if they are on there. I know my wheels are on it

See, I disagree about the 18s being cheaper. Sure, you might be able to pick up just the X wheels for a little cheaper than NEW 17x8.5 RPF1s, but the cost of tires for 18s is going to be more expensive in the long run. I would rather retain the 17" diameter where tires are not as expensive.
