^They would be 9.75. And probably not unless you were using a really stretched tire.

I just bought a set of XXR 527 17x8.25 +25 in Flat Black for my winter setup. They clear the Brembos without spacers and sit flush. Heres a quick pic:

Im looking at getting the same rim, but the +35 offset. Given this, how close is your rim spoke to caliper with the +25 offset?

you can NOT use the +35 offset of XXR 527 or 530. i have tried it on and its not close at all. it sits on the caliper before even touching any of the wheel studs on both the 8.75 and the 9.75 width. make sure to get the 20 offset. it clears the caliper by about 1/8" without spacers
also make sure to have the rear fenders rolled well. the 255/35/18 clears the fender better than the 245/40 on this setup

interesting. thanks for the info! did you mean the +25 offset? I have read that using the anything +29 and lower can generate wheel bearing issues, if so, how are people fighting this?

Is the reason the +35 hits the caliper because of the wheels spoke design? Just wondering as i thought the stock evo 8 rim is 17x8 +35

Im considering the 531s in platinum when they come out in 17" size.I nearly cried when one of my week old volks bent.If these bend its only a couple hundred compared to $900

527's look cleaner IMO, can't go wrong with the straight lines.
