Here was my driver rear side mid-shave, I ended up taking a little more off that seen in this pic. Crappy cell pic but it's all I have from a few years ago.

we have a fende roller- but prefer to trim-

we have done well over 100 cars like this--- and then we refinish with high quality underbody coating which you dont see and is nicer than using paint-

almost EVERY pulled/rolled setup will have a slightly bulge where the rear bumper meets the rear fender-

Very difficult to avoid! I usually remove the bumper bolt, and it helps alittle, but it happens regardless.

That's clean job. Look a lot cleaner than my buddy's rolled fender

Just something to think about, but a rolled lip won't cut a tire if it makes contact.

I've rolled and pulled like crazy to clear a 9.5+22 with 275/35/18 tires and I still get mild rubbing. It just burnishes the tire though, no damage done. If I had cut the lip, it probably would have destroyed the tires.

Yeah back when I had my VW GTI and had that "hellaflush" thing lol I did lots of fender rolling as well as heat gun action.

To avoid the buldge I would roll very slowly then flip the roller and have it roll the fender back in.

Time consuming but it works, I haven't touched my fenders on the evo yet but ill see how strong these are.

ALSO

Some people were asking on what to do to avoid rust.. A quick easy way to handle that is to put some top coat nail polish. I put 3 coats, and if it rubs off just apply it again..

we tape everything up---

trim with a thin cutting disc... shave it smooth..

clean...mask... spray with underbody...

in some cases.. trim... use the roller to pull out slightly without that dreaded indentation... then mask and spray

My bad I wasn't getting thread notifications on this one - I'm used a rotary sander from Sears. I forget what grit sand paper but they come in a 3-grit pack I remember - http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...1&blockType=G1

True, you'll find this will happen especially on the dyno Then you'll know you need to shave a bit more :
