cutting rear fenders?

Just something to think about, but a rolled lip won't cut a tire if it makes contact.
I've rolled and pulled like crazy to clear a 9.5+22 with 275/35/18 tires and I still get mild rubbing. It just burnishes the tire though, no damage done. If I had cut the lip, it probably would have destroyed the tires.
