I just had a set of new Bilstein HD's installed on my Evo IX MR. I reused the factory MR springs.

The ride height is the same and the handling is amazing. They do feel a bit more springy than the stock setup, but it's a really small difference.

ill have a set of super low mile hd's with spec r's for sale in a couple days. got a set of coilovers.

That would have beef nice. My Bilstein HD's just shipped from tire rack after a 3 month wait. I can't wait to get them on!

I'm looking forward to seeing/feeling how these things handle compared to what I have now (Megan Street coilovers).

You should go back to loving your car again. Find a corner with a mid-corner bump and youll never want to go back to cheap **** after driving the bilsteins (or any high quality damper)

Thats what I'm looking forward to.....with my set up now I feel like I'm going airborn on the slightest bump in a straight line. Haven't been brave enough to carry speed through a corner.

Hmm... I've been thinking quite a bit about selling my Bilstein/Spec-R setup for coilovers but this has me thinking. Your right about mid turn bumps, this setup does take it with very good responce. I don't have thicker sway bars yet so I was planning on buying front/rear bars, camber plates and lower control arms this winter or sell and just get a set of coilovers...Which way to go?

There are two reasons to keep your setup. 1, Its a daily driver or street car only. You wont see any of the benefits of coilovers on the streets on street tires. 2, You cant afford proper coilovers, not choose your color coilovers but something along the lines of AST, Ohlin, KWs, or maybe PSS9s (the last two arent nearly as friendly on the street).

You're on the right path upgrading both swaybars though

99% of my driving next season on is going to be track use, I'm doing a lot of work this winter. I can definitely afford KW's this winter as well.
