It's kinda weird. The guy that is selling them (haven't paid him yet) said they never rubbed on his car. Could it be because it was lowered and running some negative camber?

According to Ray's Wheels website, the 18" 8 1/2 size for the Evo is available in offsets +25 and +30.

But it seems the preferred (suggested?) choice on the site is 1885 +30 on 235/40/18.

You didn't mention if they guy who sold them to you have a EVO ? My guess is your wheels might be a +40 offset.

Yeah....the guy I might be buying these from has a EVO as well. Sorry for not clearing that up. I just figured there wasn't too many cars we could buy wheels off of that would fit.

Not to hyjack this thread, but I am looking for the proper offset for the TE37 (17X9). Choices are 28 or 40. I would like to run the Pilot Sport Cup 255/40/17.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Might be why he is selling them, got the wrong offset. Did he tell you they were +31MM offset??

He told me they were 31mm offset. He had them on his car for a while and bought some Vold GT-U's as well. I don't know ehich one's he had first to be honest, but the GT-U's are 18X8 with the same offset and he has them on his car now with it lowered and he never said anything about them rubbing.

Neal at Tire Rack told me that 31mm isn't too bad, but he was sure that the tires is just the problem. They don't stick out too far or anything, just the tire will touch the black fender linning when the wheels is turned to lock.

I know the owner had them on his car, because he has pictures of it at the track and on the dyno with them on it. Now if they rubbed or not is another story though.

Just wondering about the +31 offset because Volk doesn't have one for the CE-28 so something isn't right. The GTU has a +31 in 18x8 but it is the mid type disc. Rays says to use the Super High Type +29 18x8 for the GTU. Up to you what you want to do, give them a try.

I'm going back to the guys shop after this weekend and test fit the GT-U's on my car to see if there are any fitment issues and then I will make my descision. I'm just kinda scared about keeping the CE's and then buying a 235 and still have some sort of rubbing going on.

you can check the wheel specs on the inside of the wheel. just pop one of them off and there is a sticker from rays/volk it will tell you the size, offset, bolt pattern and a lot of japanese text. So you can check it out yourself to make sure.

Make sure you get the exact offset when you go back to the shop. Remember what should be the Rays offset. If he can't produce the offset stamped on the wheels or on the box I would worry about something is going on.

I'll be taking the CE's off Sat. to install my lowering springs so I'll check then. If I have any rubbing problems afterwards, I'll leave it up on jackstands and get the GT-U's. I'm almost 100% posotive they fit. His car is lowered and I've rode in his car before and I'm sure it didn't rub then.

Thanks fellas!

I'm planning on it buddy. You want to make another road trip this Monday? We might have to use you EVO too.

What's with the S2K antenna listed as a mod? LOL
