18 X 8.5" CE-28N's

I have the choice between bronze 18 X 8.5 CE-28N's or 18 X 8 gold GTU's for my Rally red EVO.

I have the CE's on my car right now, but the only thing is they rub and my car isn't lowered yet. The tires are 245/40 Nitto 555's and I think the offset is 31mm. What size tires should I run with these if I decide to get them?

I know the GTU's will fit because he has them on his car right now and they don't rub and they have 235/40's on them.

I'm getting my tein S-Techs tomorrow in the mail so I need some help figuring out what to do. The tires are brand new on both sets of rims, but I don't want to really go throught the hassle of trying to sell the tires off the CE's.

Thanks!

Maybe by looking at the pics someone can tell me if a 31mm offset or the tire used on these rims is too agressive for this setup?

I really like these wheels, but I don't want to take these tires off and replace them already with new tires when these tires are practically brand new.

I looked on Tire Rack and it suggests 235/40 with a 8.5" wheel, but it doesn't say anything about the offset.

Damn....135 views and not a single post or answer to my question. You guys must not like Volks as much as you think.

Thanks for the help.

i don't really see your question. If the question is "is the wheel the right size?" then yes it is. The problem is your tires. You should of gotten 245/35/18

That was all I was asking. I'm wasn't sure if the offset was wrong or the tire size was wrong. I might see if the guy will swap out tires cause he has 235's on the GT-U's.

Thanks buddy.

Corey I would double check your offset, Rays doesn't have a 18x8.5 +31 offset. Should be on your wheels and also the box they came in.

I'm just going by what the guy told me I bought them from. I bought thme used so I don't have the boxes and from what I was told they were a custon offset.

If it's not available, then what would you think the offset would be?
