Thanks in advance,

Joe,

Don't know what the backspacing is on the stock EVO rims, but the offset is +38mm. From the posts I have seen on this board, we should be good to go with a 17x8.5 or 17x9 with backspacing between +35mm and +30mm.

Backspacing is old school.

Everyone uses the offset which is based off the centerline of the wheel + is towards the face and negative is towards the rear (uncommon). Someone correct me if I stated that wrong.

That bike must be uncomfortable without a seat.

It ( www.joe250.com ) looks better with the bodywork on, silly:

Now tell me you looked around a little, Tim.

And for what we're trying to do, we definitely need oldschool backspacing specs.

I don't know looks kind of cool with out the bodywork.

The stock offset is +38 mm so if you figure out what 8 in. is in mm and then split it in half and add 38 you should get the backspacing.

Yeah, I thought that was just a killer pic. The site will be moving to more of a car site than m/c in just a few days. Can't wait to get the new stuff up. Just trying to find time. Yarg.

And thanks, I didn't think about just calculating it off of offset. Let's see....

8" = 203.2mm
203.2 x 1/2 = 101.6mm + 38mm = 139.6mm
139.6mm = 5.5"

Does that sound right? I'm going to go measure it now that I'm home. Will post the #'s in a minute.

Sounds about right. I would definitely verify with a measurement, I forget how the lip of the wheel factors into that number.

Hmmm...

I don't have the tools to get a precise measurement, but I just went in the garage and came up with approximately 150mm or just under 6" of backspacing. Take it for what its worth.

If anyone stumbles upon the exact numbers, please post them.

Thanks,
Joe

An 8" wheel is actually 9" overall width. A 38mm offset calculates as 6" backspace.
