i know the size is 205/55 R16 not sure of the offset.....but I am sure it is greater than 38mm like on the evo

that is the tire size that comes stock.....I bet the rim is a 16" x 7"

Are there any DSM or Mitsu wheels from other past models that are the 17x8 with proper offset for the Evo? A number of local DSMers and I'm trying to find wheels cheaply that fit and aren't too heavy...

Nope. Most DSMs came w/ 16x6 rims (97-99 AWD models came with a 17x6.5). Neither size is going to do you much good and all were fairly heavy.
