Opinions needed, PSRS to fix caster?

Alright guys, my evo's pulling to the left an it's killing me. Minor collision happened to the driver front wheel resulting in a replaced lca. After an alignment shop informed me caster is off which is resulting in high vibrations on freeway!! Anyway i heard of PSRS W/ caster adjustment up too 1.5 degrees. If there's anyone using PSRS to fix caster, did it work?

Did you take the car to a body shop to make sure everything is straight first?

Depending on how bad the caster is off, you may need the PSRS as well as caster plates to fix it. However, I've only heard of doing caster for performance reason, not to fix alignment...couldn't hurt though.

Just from what I've seen while working on my own LCA design, the EVO control arms are STOUT.

If the control arm broke in the wreck, it tweaked the frame and the car needs to be put on a frame rack and straightened.

Also, the PSRS isn't really adjustable. It will simply add X amount of caster when installed. Putting the PSRS on only one side to correct that side would be silly...(read as "stupid")

i'd be curious to see what your actual alignment measurements are, particularly things like wheelbase L vs R. Even if you have to measure the wheelbase with a tape measure.

considering how easy it is to screw up an alignment and how hard it is to bend the frame via control arm, i'd want to double check what the tech is saying.

The caster is just .6 under spec on the right side. Would any regular body shop do chasis straightening? Those ebay camber plates look tempting for just a bill, beats the 4 bill plates out there. I didn't know the PSRS was not adjustable i read that it was adjustable up to 1.5 degrees. Good thing you told me this! I'll be getting those camber plates but first I'll call around a few body shops an see if i can't just straighten it out. Thanks guys!

Suby2evo..

What's the most caster an camber you can run with these plates on just springs? Will these work with stock struts? Coilovers? Also, how is it adjusted? I see no allen bolt adjustments like i find on coils for 240s. Can it be adjusted in small increments like .6 degrees?

Front camber 1.9 on left, 2.3 on right. I'm guessing once caster is fixed i'll be able to land a solid -2
Rear camber 1.5 left, 1.3 right
Caster 3.3 on left, 2.8 on right. Spec is 3.4
Toe .13 left, -.03 on right. The right is out of spec not sure why. Spec is -.08 - .08

Hope this helps

there is nothing wrong with your caster. .5* of cross caster is within spec. your camber and toe settings are what are causing the left pull.

Youd probably be better of getting caster/camber plates.
Since the psrs is non adjustable

Get another shop to look at the car and see if they can do better. I would agree with the opinion above that the camber and toe mismatch would be the most likely culprit to cause issues. And make sure they do the rear as well. Have them set the toe to zero all around...

if the shop wont set to your specs then walk before they start to work on it. Find a much better shop in your area.

Thanks guys, ordered myself those caster plates off ebay. An yeah i figured any tire shop wouldn't know how to align an Evo. Funny thing they swore they couldn't get the numbers to be any closer to what was desired. Car was in two collisions that really shook up the frame an LCA's so we'll see how it goes from here
