Anyone driving on 265/35R18 tires?
Is anyone rolling with 265/35R18 series tires on their EVO? Didn't WORKS try it?
Anyhow, 265 on an 18 appears to be the closest match to the stock rolling circumference. Right? Still, 265 is a really wide tire, so any problems -- rubbing, suspension wear, adverse handling, simply look too wide , etc. Also, what rim size would be needed. I'm guessing 18x9 +35mm. Thanks in advance.

no way you could get away with the 265/40... not unless you were at stock height...
i can't imagine that the 265 is practical at all on the streets... 245 and lowered abotu 2" is about the limit you can go... without some modifications to the wheel wells...

well I agree that since all the tires are pulling hard it may not be helpful to have larger tires in the rear. as far as traction is concerned. the look is better in my opinion to have larger rear tires with a slight rake. depending on the handling of the car you may need to make up for oversteer with larger tires in back or understeer with larger tires in the front so sometimes tires sizes can help balance and compansate for a cars certain handling traits. at the moment i havent had mine doing anything except a little tail wag coming around a corner quick with it full of people that seemed to make it want to tail slide more . never did this with just 2 people in the car.

doesnt the evo have a bigger wheel well than a lancer....my 17's with 40's suck...ride comfort at least...i dont even want to imagine what 35's would be like ...so yeah it will depend on your setup or the setup you will have...i thought about getting 18's but my GF would have hated the ride....and i would too...id go with 40's at the least

I would be more specific than different size tires. if your tires are equal in circumference or rolling length then it cannot pose a problem. some different size tires and be the same size.

I'm wondering the same thing with 265/30/19s. The 265s are only 1 inch wider than the stock 235/45/17s and keep the same overall diameter. From what I've been reading, there is not even an extra inch of room in the wheel well. That's on a +35mm wheel as well. That to me is just ridiculous.

285/30/18's on 18x10's is even more ridiculous.
