Mickey Thompson Street Comp

Has anyone tried out these Mickey thompson Street Comp tires out. They're priced pretty cheap price wise which is pushing me away but it does have the MT name behind it and stamped on the tire.

Im just looking to get a new tires car is straight DD status with the occasional trip to the drag strip maybe once a month.

what size would you be considering? Don't expect them to be the stickiest of tires, but by all means they look like they will ride decent. And man I wish my occasional track time was once a month lol.

I was looking at the 245/45/17s one of their vendors has them for $99 a piece. Would like to get some Hankook Rs-3's or Falken Azeniz RT615s but I want to get some miles out of them. Was also looking at the Dunlop Direzza Z102's or some Yoko S-Drives.

I've got the 235/45R17 Mickey Thompson Street Comp tires on my O.E. Enkei wheels. Going to get the 245/40R18's once I save up enough to get my CCW's. They are by no means a sticky "Drag Radial" but are a Summer UHP. The biggest things that I noticed was when you provide feedback, the respose is very crisp and they provide great wet traction. It's asymmetrical so you can roate them in the manner as specified my Mitsubishi.

Sounds intriguing. How are they for cornering? Braking?

I have only done street driving since switching to the Street Comp tires so I really have not come close to pushing the tires to the limit. Previously I ran the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position and the (now discontinued) Cooper Zeon 2XS. I can say that the biggest things that I have noticed include #1 how very smooth and quiet they are; #2 the wet grip/hydroplane resistance; the Street Comp does not push like the previous tires did and seems to provide more grip the more I accelerate (within reason); #3 the responsiveness; when powering through curves, when I put input into the steering to correct rear-sway, the feedback is instant and very crisp! Both the Bridgestone and Cooper tires were down to about 1/4 useable treadlife when I replaced them.

^^^ +1

The RE11s are the best street tire ever, regardless of price - sticky, quiet and they last.
