Tire size is also dependent on wheel size. Tell us exactly which wheel & its size & we can give you our opinions on max tire size

We would still need the offset (i.e. 17x9 +30)

Anyway, it depends on how much rear fender work you want done. I run a couple of different set-ups. My street set-up is 17x9.5 +30 on 275/40 tires. No front fender work performed other than modifying the front fender liners.
The rear fender needed the full treatment (roll, pull, bumper bolt re-locate)

You should really pick a wheel & give us the full spec

By my chart, the largest tire width allowed is the 255/40 (265 would be Ok). Will fit no problem up front but the rear will need a roll at the minimum & likely a slight fender pull & bumper bolt if the 265 is used

17x9.5 (+30 to +35) & will need rear fender roll, fender pull & bumper bolt relocation

You want your car to be as low as possible?

Maybe check the "stanced" section?

the "largest tire you can fit" isn't the same as "the largest tire that will perform". are you wanting the car to grip more/drive better, or just the absolute widest tire? front tire can be pretty wide, with a bit of work to the fender liners.
i run a 9.5" +30 wheel with a 255 tire and 20mm spacer. i run into a bit of an issue due to my PSRS. it requires being creative with the liners LOL.

Borderline of stock fender without work: 17x9+35 255/40/17
If you roll rear fender, relocate rear bumper tab: 18x9.5+27~35 265/35/18
If you roll rear fender + relocate rear bumper tab + r/ternie high clearance rear trailing arm: 18x10.5+35~40 275/35/18 or 285/30/18
It range from easy to fit to harder to fit to very hard to fit
If you are boring person just buy 8.5+30 and 245/45/17 or 245/40/18

i have a 17x9.5 with an effective +18 offset and a 255 tire with no issues. that gives me quite a bit of room inboard to run a wider wheel and tire, from the look of it.
the ONLY reason i have a bit of a rubbing issue with the liner is because of my PSRS. otherwise, i see no reason to fit a 275 tire.
keeping in mind, of course, that my car isn't lowered all that much (i try to keep my control arms above level.

with an Evo Dave or similar fender mod you can fit up to a 295 but you can't go lock to lock. You will also need some adjustability in the caster to help keep the back of the tire off the wheel well.
