Driving with bad abs sensor

Hi guys, I was changing my front wheel bearings yesterday on my 4 and I must have dinged the passenger front abs sensor and now my abs light is on and my ayc light comes on after about 100 yards of driving. I know they use the same sensor and I would like to know if it is okay to drive with until I get a new sensor or if it will throw off my ayc. Thanks

without abs sensor you can drive no problem.
The ABS functions for example and AYC will not operate without wheel speed, the systems are deactivated for safety.

Had a friend that did that at a track day to have the rear end come out under braking. Sideswiped a wall.

I know this is old, but I have the same problem. Parts wont come in here for another week. Is it ok to drive the car if its just for DD (grandma driving)?

It's completely fine to drive in the sense that it won't hurt anything on the car. It just will not have the same safety or performance features as normal.

What ABS is seeing is three wheels turning and one sliding on ice - or so it thinks. That the ABS system can figure out that this can't be the real situation is kinda amazing. Would I want to put my life in the hands of a gizmo we claim quits working automatically when it detects something wrong? No, I'd pull the ABS fuse.

If the ABS light is on, then the system isn't working.

The system know there is a short in the sensor when the sensor fails.

Exactly, the ABS stopped working. Unknown to driver.

The OP knows he doesn't have ABS, and he isn't hot lapping the ring. Terrible comparison.
