Bught new Bilstein HDs - what else do I need?
doh! spelling evidently isn't my strong point!
-Bought- new Bilstein HDs
I'm replacing the worn out (115k+) MR Bilseins on my IX with all new stuff. I have the new Struts/shocks and thought I'd post here before I buy something that doesn't fit.
Thanks,
John-

- Swift Spec-R springs seems to be the most popular choice I was happy with the espelirs on the car, but they are no longer unavailable.
- What should I do for the rest of the parts I need?
- Tien Pillow Ball mount kit? or something else?
- what about the spring pads? are they available from somewhere?
- Bump stops?
- Anything Else?
Thanks,
John-

- Good choice on the Swift springs
- What are your plans for the EVO. If its just street duty you might want to think about re-bushing the suspension
- Sure, you can use the proper pillow ball mount kit. If youre not tracking the EVO, you probably dont need them unless youre wanting to dress up the engine bay which is cool
- Maybe try Mitsubishi parts on the spring pads. Ive never messed w/my stock ones but after 100K maybe they should be replaced
- Bump stops may have to trimmed on the Swifts. Read the directions & trim as required
- Tell us what else you would like to do

Every Mechanical bit on the car has been rebuilt in the last 4 months, (2.4lr) engine, trans, transfer case, driveline, new alternator, etc, etc. I've already got a good start on suspension rebuild goods, replacing all bushings, ball joints etc.
I do plan on the occasional road/track day, but nothing serious.
ASA shows the following parts for my SE, but I'm not sure if they will fit with the HD strut/shock combo:
Front:
MR244220 Lower Seat
MR510136 Damper
MR510138 Upper Seat
MR369862 Dust Cover
Rear:
MN100476 Damper
MB809281 Cup
MB809280 Pad
MB809284 cover
As the upper strut mounts are a wear point, I thought it would be a good idea to replace them, hence the Upper Pillow Mounts.
Thanks,
John-
