Good tires for 600whp weekend car? 18x8.5 +30
Hey EvoM. I was wondering what tires would be a good fit for my 18x8.5 +30 le28s car should be around 550-600whp and driven on weekends or when the roads are clear (not very often here in Oregon). I have 255/40/18 falken azenis rt615. Don't get me wrong, these tires are great. However they are a little bit too big. Any recommendations on tires that are smaller then my 255/40/18s would be greatly appreciated.

Was looking at the Nitto Nt05's and thinking I will go with those. Just now doing some reading about the super sports. Car isn't done yet so I've got some time to decide. Thanks for all the help!

The NT05 is a true, hard core summer tire w/very aggressive tread. Minimal rain grooves (200 treadwear). Very rigid side wall
The Mich supersports appear to be intended for summer driving but clearly has more rain grooves. Not sure about the side wall stiffness (300 treadwear). Will certainly wear really well w/the harder compound

The R888 is a true track day tire like the Nitto NT01. The OP is looking for an aggressive street tire. Running a 100 treadwear tire on the street is a waste of $$$ IMO

I really like the RE11's on my car. Newer compound tech than the NT05's, and pretty quite as far as tread noise goes. I know some of the directional tires can be pretty loud (Z2's, RE71r's, RS3's, etc), not sure about the NT05's.

michellin pilot super sport or conti dw
I got ~28k miles out of both sets.
I give the nod to the mich, better all around imo = cornering grip, braking, acceleration, power down..... especially when the roads are wet.... this is coming from socal, so when roads are wet = greasy & the power down abilities are really impressive with the mich pss.

A fairly less expensive and good option I've used for quite some time have been the Federal 595-rsr tires. The tread might not last as long as some of these other ones, but for about $120-130 a tire you can't beat how good they perform.
