Question Lower Spring on stock shock

I have seen lots of ppl using lower spings (like Tanabe, s-tech, pro-kit) with the Stock Shock on their Evo. Most ppl have good result and very please with the perfromance.

My question is how well you guys think the stock shock can be lasted with a set of lower spring? My experience told me that in many case the stock shock usually wear out pretty fast w/ lower spring since the stocker is not design to the aftermarket spring rate.

Since the Evo using Inverted Mono-tube shock from the factory.....you guys think it can handle and last longer with higher spring rate? I want to buy a set of s-tech/ tanabe like many ppl......but I just worry about the perfromance in the LONG RUN.

TIA

chrisS, what is the mileage on your car when you installed the Tanabe spring?

i installed my Eibachs at about 100 miles and my shocks are still fine and im at almost 10,000 almost 1 1/2 years ago. the fact that it is an inverted monotube means nothing, since regular shocks are a monotube. so really a "normal" shock is turned upside down. no different.

I had my 90 Civic LX for 10 yrs now with the stock shock and intrax lowering springs at 180K miles. They still handle pretty well. Im looking forward on my Evo that they will last too.
