7 alone on my Evo...counting the other 5 cars I have owned in the last 10 years...or all the Evos or family/friends cars I have worked on....you get the point.

ha - cocky attitude, 0 knowledge...keep trying - you have yet to actually post anything worthwhile.

How many pads have to run on your Evo? How many tracks have you raced on? How many autocrosses?

You sound like nothing more than an entry level tech at Midas.

In the end, people can do what they want. People who think you need to cut rotors EVERYTIME are wasting their rotors and money - so be it. Or you could listen to people that have experience and heck - maybe even learn something.

After the contentious last bunch of post I am a bit hesitant to join in, but what the hell. I read the first page and the last 2, but not this whole thread, so sorry if already answered, but...
Has anyone else had the experience of the inner pad wearing much faster than the outer? I am scraping the warning gizmo on the inside (thanks crappy Mitsubishi service people - I guess you get what you pay for... I got 4 years free service when I bought the car) but the outer pad looks like it still has ~4mm before it starts scraping.

My impression with the brand new brakes OEM pads (I bought the 05 MR new) was that they needed a lot more pedal pressure than I would have expected. Mine lasted 27k miles, I thought they dusted a lot and when they were new (the first 4-5 k miles) they occasionally squeaked a bit. My previous car was an Integra Type R that I thought had awesome brakes - not a lot of pressure needed, modulated well, stopped fast, lasted 40+k miles, dead silent, did dust a little, etc. So I am also curious as to people's experience with the various street candidates out there in terms of:
1) pedal pressure,
2) life in miles
3) dusting
4) noise
(not worried about fade for mostly street driving + maybe a little mountain bombing / canyon carving / maybe a couple of autoxs)

The pads I am considering are
*Stock
*Hawk HPS
*Project mu
*and does anyone know about Hawk's Ceramic pads (which seem to be fairly new?)
*would anybody suggest anything else (I don't have a good impression of EBCs and Axxis ultimate dust too much for no real advantage elsewhere)

And lastly, is there a great recommended place to get some pads quick especially near San Diego?

Pads have been covered in other threads. Stay away from the HPS's - lack of bite and not great overall. Check out GiroDisc Magics, GranSport GS5's or GS6's, or Performance Friction Z's.
