Directional Tires

I had my tires changed from my winter tires...and I was looking at someones evo today and the tread was going the other direction..... Can the stock yokos go in both directions? or is something seriously wrong here....

For best, and safest results, you should always run a directional tire with the tread pointing toward the front of the car. Running the tire backwards is especially bad when its wet out. Instead of pumping water away from the tire, your actually forcing it underneath. This creates a high risk of hydroplaning.
If your not sure how the tire should be mounted, there will be a directional arrow on the sidewall showing its proper rotation.
