BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD question
Hi,
I'm planning on upgrading to some Volk CE28 or LE28 rims, 18" ... what rim width should I go with if I plan on running BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD tires? and what size tire will work (245/40, 265/35)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good question...one I'd like to know too. Great tire choice, BTW...how did you decide on those? Taking with Shiv? I've been researching them since Vishnu's One Lap report on them...they seem like the way to go if you want Advan performance in an 18" size.
I assume you're looking to keep the set up proportional to the stock one right? Our 235/45's that come stock isn't the norm for a 17" wheel I think...but it works perfect of course...maybe it's unique to the Advans since they were developed specifically for the Evo?
It'd be nice to hear from Neil on this.

IMO if Paul (chronohunter) recommends KD's over the Advans (and apparently over the Pilots on his own Evo) after having driven the KD's in One Lap, then it's good by me.
Yeah, I am trying to keep it as close to the stock proportions as possible. The 245's would already be nice, but I think the 265's would totally rule

I got 'em
I went with 245x40x18 - they really fill up the gap nicely w/stock suspension! I wouldn't be suprised if I gained some g's; .01 or so - They Grip like hell; however, in the wet, better give yourself some room for Drifting!
Put them on TE37 8.5x18 30mm offset:
you can sort of see them in -Show and Shine- "Black Volks on Silver Evo"

yep... we had to go back to the 265s since the 285s couldn't be mounted to the rims we are using. The lip on the wheels isn't round enough so the tires wouldn't seat Still in the process of mounting the bad boys up. Stay tuned....
Paul is on vacation now. God knows he deserves it. But we have him again next weekend in Detroit for the C&D mag annual Supercar/Supertuner Challenge!

I keep eyeing a friends 285/30-18s and wheels. While his are on a track built 400+ WHP RX-7, I'd really like to squeeze that size under an Evo. Visions of WOT corner exits with no wheelspin dancing in my head...

I have Enkie RPJO-2s 18x9 +35 with 275/35 18 Toyo Ra1's under the car ride height is pretty extreme at 12" rear and 13.5" front but it was good enough to win the USCC Road Course event...Need to jack the rear fender/bumper joint, grind the washer and roll the rear wheel well edges. Front will be fine no work needed (prob from the 4+ camber settings!)
